Who, what, where, when, why as it relates to Northwestern State athletics- that's The Daily Demon. What really doesn't fit into our traditional press releases, you'll get here from several members of the NSU athletic department staff. It might be updates on former student-athletes. It may be that somebody called to say hello, or dropped by. It's all about strengthening the special bond that the NSU family shares. If you've got news or notes, please e-mail thedailydemon@gmail.com and let us know!

Positive buzz around the volleyball court
Northwestern State won a five-game thriller over Louisiana Tech on Tuesday, giving the Lady Demons their third straight win while picking up their first victory since 2000 over the Lady Techsters (seven outings).
An electric crowd of nearly 350 was on hand to cheer the team to the win.
The atmosphere at NSU volleyball matches continues to grow more and more with excitement. Great giveaways, NSU cheer and Dazzlers on hand, not to mention the always entertaining of Scotty Dawson. There's a lot things people are missing out on by not coming out to Prather Coliseum for some Lady Demon volleyball action.
NSU hits the road on Friday and Saturday but will return home next Thursday, Sept. 27, when it hosts East Division favorite McNees State.
The Cowgirls have been packing Memorial Gym (their home site) with over 500 fans per match.
NSU needs to outdo that number next Thursday.
By the way, admission is free and your dinner that night will likely be too.
