Dunking Coach Peve on the 4th

Joining Coach Bradley Dale Peveto at the Sabine Parish Victory Tour Stop Thursday night on Toledo Bend Lake was his 3-year-old son, Jacob.

Jacob was excited about the chance to dunk his Daddy on July 4 at the dunking booth down on the riverbank as part of the Natchitoches Independence Day activities.

Coach Peveto told the crowd of about 60 Toledo Lake Association members that he has a long connection to the lake. His family has had a camp on the Texas side, near Hemphill, since 1969.

Hopefully that helps him stay afloat in the dunking booth today. Happy 4th!

Great move for Chris Thompson, Calvary

Former Demon basketball standout Chris Thompson, one of the pivotal figures in the Demons' first NCAA Tournament trip in 2001, has been named head basketball coach at Calvary Baptist high school in Shreveport.

Earlier this spring, former Demon quarterback and NSU graduate Bo Meeks was tabbed as Calvary's head football coach.

Here's the story on Chris:
