Coach Graf honored at LSHAA Girls Top 28
It was a special day for Lady Demon basketball coach Jennifer Graf on Saturday, the final day of the LHSAA Girls Basketball Top 28 Tournament.
Graf, along with three other individuals, were recognized by the LHSAA as the 2008 Legends of the Game.
Each year, the Ladies’ Top 28 Tournament Committee honors legends of the game that have made a significant impact on girls basketball over the years.
Graf joined former Lady Demon basketball player Lisa Brewer, Northwestern State alum Dewain Strother, and Doris Coleman Guillory as this year’s recipients.
A native of Loranger, Graf helped the Lady Wolves to their first Class 2A State Championship in 1996, her senior season. She earned the Class 2A Most Valuable Player honors as well as sharing the overall Sweet 16 Tournament MVP Award.
Graf was also surprised by her former high school head coach and this year’s Loranger team with a commemorative poster, showcasing action shots of her playing days at Loranger HS and Northwestern State.
