Especially kickers.
Let's face it, there's only so much practicing kickers can do any given week. They are traditionally the guys who get stuck with chain gang duties during practice drills, for example.
That's what was going on when buddies and competitors Lee Scott and Robert Weeks "pranked" each other during Tuesday morning's practice.
I can't exactly say what Lee did to Robert, except to say it was funny and no harm was done.
Robert bounced back a little while later. While they were holding the chains, Robert scooped up a couple handfuls of the rubber pellets that provide the base for the artificial turf at Turpin Stadium, and snuck up behind Lee, who was dutifully watching the action on the field. Suddenly, it was raining rubber on Lee's closely shorn locks. Gave him the rubber, I mean rugged, look.
Practice was hardly playful for the bulk of the team, but the energy and enthusiasm was obvious. These Demons know they have a tough opener and they are very determined going into it.
